This study aimed to produce a design and a prototype of home security system based on PIR sensor, magnetic sensor, solenoid door locks, nodeMCU ESP8266, and Blynk applications and to determine its success rate. This research was conducted in three stages, namely designing, manufacturing, and testing a prototype of home security system. The system prototype design was made using the Sketchup software, while the schematic design was made using the Fritzing software. Manufacturing of the tool was carried out in two stages, namely hardware and software manufacturing. Hardware manufacturing begin with tools and materials preparations, component assembly, and hardware checking. Software development started from creating widgets in the Blynk application, as well as writing and installing programs sketch. Prototype testing of the home security system included success rate of motion detection, door breaking and button pressing, each repeated 100 times. Prototype of home security system was successfully designed and used as a guide in manufacturing. The prototype was also successfully built using PIR sensor, magnetic sensor, solenoid door lock, nodeMCU ESP8266, and Blynk application. Meanwhile, the test results showed that the prototype of home security system has very good performance with success rate of motion detection, door breaking, and button pressing of 100%. %Z Frida Agung Rakhmadi, S.Si., M.Sc.
