abstract: The importance of quality of education which is closely related to the
achievement on an educational goal makes the principal mush have a strategy to
improve the quality education. The principal has a very important role in
formulating strategies that will be implemented together with all parties. RA
Muslimalimat NU Masyithoh 06 Buaran Pekalongan is a school that has good
quality education, has good achievements in academic and non academic fields,
and is a reference school in terms of school administration so that it is the main
reason for researchers to ook at the strategies carried out by the principal . The
purpose of this study was to determine the strategies used by the principal of RA
Muslimat NU Masyithoh 06 Buaran Pekalongan in improving the quality of
education in schools.
This research is a descriptive qualitative research type with a case study
type of research conducted to examine the principal’s leadership strategy to
improve the quality education. Data was collected by using observation, interview
and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out using 1) data
reduction, 2) data presentation and 3) conclusion drawing. The test validity of the
data obtained using source triangulation, technical triangulation and time
triangulation methods.
The result of the study in improving the quality of education at RA Muslimat
NU Masyithoh 06 Buaran Pekalongan showed that (1) the strategy used by the
principal with coordination and cooperation was to create the product I like to
read, local content books and provide extracurricular coloring. The principal also
provides motivation to school residents, the motivation given by the principal in the
from of positive behavior and attitudes and providing motivation is carried out on
the sidelines of internal teacher meetings. The principal carries out administrative
development such as curriculum, finance, infrastructure, educators and education
staff. (2) The challenges and obstacles faced by the principal at RA Muslimat NU
Masyithoh 06 Buaran Pekalongan include a. the number of PAUD institutions
established around RA, b. the thoughts of parents who do not agree about the
learning of children’s character.
