abstract: Morality is a benchmark in society, in Durkeim‟s view, morality determines and regulates behavior, so morality presupposes a certain inner attitude in a person to live regularly. The purpose of morality from a theoretical point of view ia to compile general laws of morality, while from an applied prespective it aims to investigate how the law is applied to various important situations and the various possibilities foun in life. This study aims to analyze the morality contained in the novel Usfur Min Al-Syarq by Taufiq al-Hakim with an analysis of Emile Durkeim‟s morality. Social morality consists of three elements, namely : 1. Spirit Dicipline, 2. Attachment to social grups, 3. Autonomy /Self determination. This research is a descriptive research, the research describes the problems studied and discusses them. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the morality of the characters contained in the novel Usfur Min al-Syarq by Taufiq al-Hakim, is in the form of mutual respect between religious communities, being your self, loving each ofther between family members, loving peace, mutual help, provide motivation, reward and advise each other. Mushin‟s moral role as a real role and role model in characters morality as a positivies role that has a positive influence on other characters. The role of Andre‟s family, there are various roles, the role that is recomenden to be played by grandmother. The gap in the rle palyed by grandfather. Muhsin‟s mother had a real role in helping Muhsins‟s father. Ivan dan Maddam Cella have role failure roles that have conflicts in the roles they are playing.
