"The development of information technology has brought enormous changes in all\r\naspects of people's lives, especially when the birth of social media has caused a shift in\r\npeople's behavior patterns, both in terms of culture, ethics, norms and even changes in the\r\ncharacter of communication. The social media YouTube and Tiktok are the focus of research\r\nand the main object in building the character of children's communication, specifically the\r\nstudents of the An-Nahr TPA, Sagan Timur Hamlet, Yogyakarta. This research was\r\ndeliberately reviewed and analyzed in order to find out the factors and causes of the\r\nformation of the communication character of the students of TPA An-Nahr, through exposure\r\nto social media (Youtube and Tiktok). This study also uses a qualitative method with a\r\nDescriptive Analysis approach, focusing on studying the theory of communication character\r\nfrom (Kreitner and Kinicki: 2009). Data collection techniques use observation, interview and\r\ndocumentation methods. As the validity of the data, the researcher used source triangulation,\r\nby checking the authenticity of the data from direct findings and comparing the results of data\r\nthat had been previously obtained.\r\nThe results of this study are grouped into several categories, including: (1) the\r\ncommunication characters of the children/students of the An-Nahr TPA with teachers\r\n(Ustad), tend to use manipulative and submissive characters, children/students with\r\nmanipulative characters are usually full of drama and ignore the value of honesty , while\r\nsubmissive tends to be female students (female) where these characters prefer to be silent and\r\nare not interested in being involved in a problem. (2) Parents/Guardians, Enter the category of\r\nPassive Aggressive and Manipulative communication characters. The main feature of this\r\ncharacter is the rejection with confusing body language and ignoring the value of honesty. (3)\r\nPeers, tend to be aggressive and direct communication, tough and rude communication\r\nattitude regardless of the interlocutor's boundaries and attitude and the effects that will occur.\r\n(4) the social scope of the East Sagan Hamlet community, is included in the category of\r\nsubmissive and manipulative communication characters. the main characteristic of this\r\ncommunication character is full of drama and not interested in getting involved in a problem."^^ .
