This research aims to find out how concepts that exist in real life are adapted into a world inside a game, in this case, Fatal Frame. The focus of research are: (1) how concept of death and human sacrifice ritual are portrayed in Shintoism; and (2) how concept of death and human sacrifice ritual are constructed in Fatal Frame series. To answer research questions above, researcher uses Theory of Mimetic in Platonic dialogue. Theory of Mimetic is used to analyze how Fatal Frame series adapts concept of death and human sacrifice ritual in Japanese folklore. This is a qualitative research. Gathered data are then processed using analythic descriptive method. Following are the result of this research: firstly, in the perspective of Shintoism, death is seen as something of taboo and dirty, yet they are still connected to death in their daily lives. Here is where concept of On is applied. Meanwhile, for human sacrifice ritual, researcher categorized related datas into two types, of which are hitobashira and rituals done to appease supranatural entities. Secondly, concept of death in Fatal Frame series is constructed in the form of the main antagonist. On the other hand, human sacrifice ritual in Fatal Frame is shown in a sequence of ritual, consisting of four parts. %Z Pembimbing: Ahmad Muttaqin, S.Ag., M.Ag., M.A., Ph.D.
