abstract: Asset expropriation on Jl. Pasar Kembang Yogyakarta raised pro and cons from the public, every effort had been done to minimize the cons. Rejection from public that became threat and support from the government are the polemic PT. KAI's (Persero) Daop 6 Yogyakarta Public Relations had to face in asset expropriation of Jl. Pasar Kembang in Yogyakarta.
The research aims to analyze the contribution of PT. KAI (Persero) Daop 6 Yogyakarta public relations while facing the pros and cons in asset expropriation on Jl. Pasar Kembang Yogyakarta. This research uses descriptive qualitative research metho. The data collecting method consists of observation, interview, and data documentation. This research uses two theories, the first is contingency of accommodation theory and the second is the role of public relations theory.
This research concludes that public relations has important role as speakperson in asset expropriation team of PT. KAI to succeed the process of expropriation Jl. Pasar Kembang St. Yogyakarta. The public relations of PT. KAI (Persero) Daop 6 Yogyakarta gave persuasive socialisation to the public even giving an escalated warning whenever the public is uncooperative so PT. KAI had to take forcexpropriation. This research hopes to make a contribution in Comunication Studies especially in Public Relations and the company's manner of asset expropriation cases.
