This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenology approarch which involved one male and two female research subjects. The result of this study shows that subjects experienced languange difficulties when the first time became foreign students and had to adapt to a new culture. Aspects of hardiness contained in the three subjects include the ability to control themselves, have a strong commitment, and face challenges confidently. The factors that affect the hardiness of Thai students are social support from their friends in the form of material and non-material and support from the Thai ministry through full study scholarships. In addition, parenting by parents, self-confidence, positive self-image and good mastery of subject experience made the three subjects can adjust to develop and survive as Thai students and finish their studies in Yogyakarta.
