abstract: Game addiction is a worldwide phenomenon. This study aims to determine the relationship between online game addiction in terms of family functioning and self regulation among adolescents in Yogyakarta. The subject are 54 adolescents aged 11-21 in Yogyakarta and indicated as game addict. The research method used is using correalional quantitative. This study used multiple regression analysis which showed the following results: 1) there was a negative relationship between family functioning and self regulation on online game addiction with a significance value of 0.045 (p <0.05) and had a contribution rate of 11.5% for online game addiction. on line. 2) there is a negative relationship between family functioning and online game addiction with a significance value of 0.044 (p <0.05) and a contribution rate of 5.6% to online game addiction. 3) there is a negative relationship between self regulation and online game addiction, with a significance value of 0.042 (p <0.05) and a contribution rate of 5.8% towards online game addiction.
