Siantari Rihartono M.Si. abstract: The study aims to find out how the interpersonal communication of parents and children in assisting learning activities. Besides having a positive impact, gadgets also have a negative effect encourage children to be more active in playing gadgets and interfere learning activities. This strengthens the role of parents. Interpersonal communication between parents and children is needed to accompany children's learning activities. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach and symbolic interaction theory. Data collection methods are interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects were six parents and six elementary school age children in Ngekel Village of Juwiring Klaten with purposive sampling technique. The results found that interpersonal communication between parents and children in Ngekel Village applies to all components of interpersonal communication. The assumption that parents are busy at work will make them not have time to accompany their children's learning activities, however after doing research it can be seen that parents are still trying to accompany their children's learning with some adjustments. Interpersonal communication between parents and children in assisting learning activities have a positive impact, since childrens helpful when parents ask them about learning difficulties.
