Based on the author's observations by looking at data and archives, the number of cases of polygamy permits in the Sleman Religious Court is much higher than cases of polygamy permits in other Yogyakarta regional courts. Permit cases of polygamy in the Religious Courts of Sleman are the 4th most common among all religious courts in Indonesia. From the explanation above, researchers are interested in further researching how polygamy influences the divorce rate in the Religious Courts. The researcher has a problem formulation, namely what are the factors that cause divorce at the Sleman Religious Court in 2017-2021 and how the influence of polygamy on the divorce rate at the Sleman Religious Court in 2017-2021. This type of research is field research, and the nature of the research is descriptive-analytic. To collect the data studied using the method of interviews (interviews) and documentation. The problem approach in this research is empirical juridical. The data analysis uses quantitative data analysis and uses deductive thinking. Based on this research, the researcher came to a conclusion; First, basically the occurrence of divorce in the jurisdiction of the Sleman Religious Court is influenced by several factors, including: continuous disputes and fights, morals, bodily harm, abandoning obligations, being sentenced to prison, disability, and other factors. Second, from the cases that have been handled by the Sleman Religious Court, it can be concluded that polygamy can affect divorce rates but is not dominant. Generally, divorces that occur in polygamous families are caused by problems of justice, continuous disputes and quarrels, loss of harmony and leaving one party, and because polygamy is secretly or unhealthy polygamy.} }
