SEBAGAI PENGEMAS BUAH SAWO %U https://digilib.uin-suka.ac.id/id/eprint/51271/ %X The research about the preparations of edible film from corn starch and aloe vera with addition soursop leaf extract was conducted. The purpose of this research is to determine the optimum composition of soursop leaf extract on edible film on the mechanical properties, Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR), and application to extend the shelf life of sapodilla based on weight loss test. Mechanical properties test includes thickness, tensile strength, elongation, and modulus young. Soursop leaf extract variation added to edible film are 0,5; 1; dan 1,5% (w/w total). The results showed that the optimum composition of edible film with the addition of 1% soursop leaf extract produced thickness of 0,1005 mm, tensile strength of 26,0552 MPa, elongation of 1,9840%, and modulus young of 13,1326 MPa, and WVTR of 6,5 g/m2.jam. The shelf life of sapodilla without coated edible film (control) based on weight loss is 23 days. The shelf of sapodilla coated edible film without the addition of extract is 27 days, while the shelf life of sapodilla coated edible film with the addition of 1% extract is 33 days. Coating edible film with the addition of 1% soursop leaves extract can extend the shelf life of sapodilla for longer. %Z Pembimbing : Endaruji Sedyadi, S.Si., M.Sc.
