%X Sexual activity is a human need in general which has the basis of norms that apply in society. However, the phenomenon of deviations in premarital sexual behavior in the community is still common. Among the factors that influence premarital sexual behavior are emotional regulation and democratic parenting. The purpose of this study was to determine premarital sexual behavior in terms of emotional regulation and democratic parenting among university students in Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study was to determine premarital sexual behavior in terms of emotional regulation and democratic parenting among university students in Yogyakarta. The method of this research approach is to use a correlation approach of multiple regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant negative relationship between emotional regulation and democratic parenting and premarital sexual behavior in students in Yogyakarta. Partially, the results of the first minor hypothesis test showed that there was no significant negative relationship between emotion regulation and premarital sexual behavior. The results of the second minor hypothesis test in this study indicate that there is a significant negative relationship between democratic parenting and premarital sexual behavior in students in Yogyakarta. The effective contribution of emotional regulation and democratic parenting is 23.9%, meaning that premarital sexual behavior is also influenced by other factors such as peers, puberty, frequency of meetings with girlfriends and economic status.
