"It is not merely about gender as a grammatical\r\nphenomenon when discussing this subject matter in connection\r\nto language. More than that, in it there are profound meanings\r\nthat are far more deeply related to the relationship between\r\nmen and women. That is because language, as a result of\r\nhuman representation, is not neutral or value-free, but contains\r\ncertain assumptions about objects that are abstracted, resulting\r\nin certain values in the language itself, whether individual,\r\nsocial, cultural, or political.\r\nThe relationship between the two in the context of Arabic\r\nhas its own uniqueness because this language not only is\r\ncultural in nature but also has a religious style so that the\r\nnuances of religion are involved in coloring relations between\r\nboth sexes. Therefore, the most fundamental question is how\r\nwomen are imaged in this language and how these images are\r\ncompared with men‟s.\r\nTo get these images, the feminism approach to language is\r\nused because it generally tries to provide an analysis of the\r\nconditions that shape women‟s lives. In addition, it explores\r\ncultural understandings of what is meant by being a woman.\r\nBased on this approach, findings reveal that the image of\r\nwomen can be summed up in two ways. First, women are the\r\nbranches while men are the origin. The position as a branch\r\nmeans that women come from men. Second, women are\r\nconsidered as imperfect humans, while men are in the\r\nopposite. Imperfections of women are because their sense is\r\nnot on the same level as men. It is below men‟s but above\r\nanimals and plants or other objects.
