Methodologically, this research was conducted with quantitative methods using secondary data. The data analysis technique used is panel data analysis using selected randomized effect models. The purpose of this research analysis is used to explain the independent variables, namely regional domestic products, provincial minimum wage, labor force, and exports to the dependent variable, namely foreign direct investment. Based on the results of the simultaneous test, this study shows an independent variable on foreign direct investment in Sumatra Island. Whereas based on the results of the partial test, the Gross Regional Domestic Product variable has a positive and significant effect. While the provincial minimum wage variable, labor force, and exports do not compete with foreign direct investment.
