One of the reasons is human resource management that has not been implemented properly. So it is necessary to manage the human resources optimally. The goal is that school become a quality institution. This research is a field research (field research) that took the background in MAN 1 Magelang with the type of qualitative research. Technique of data collecting is done by observation method, interview and documentation. The data validity test uses the triangulation method of source and technique. Data analysis using the theory of Matthew Miles and Michael Hubberman with data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. The result of the research shows: First, implementation of human resource management in MAN 1 Magelang include: planning of procurement of teacher and new employee according to requirement of school, recruitment by selecting application that has entered, selection and placement by specifying criterion for teacher BTA and teaching competence, organizing task-splitting according to competence, orientation done by formal and non formal way, training and development done by on the job training and off the job training, performance appraisal is done through supervision for teacher, and compensation is determined after teaching hours teacher. Second, evaluation by: daily evaluation using the prescriptions run by the picket teacher, monthly evaluation by checking the data of teacher teacher and case, semester evaluation done to evaluate education program, evaluation done to evaluate the work result during a year and be used as a reference for preparing the School Work Plan (SWP) in the coming year. Third, supporting factors are: the similarity of mission vision, the number of adequate human resources, activities that support student talents and interests, representative facilities and infrastructure, strategic school location.
