abstract: This thesis aims to answer the problems that have been formulated on the
background of learning PAI based on multicultural in Yayasan Khatolik, which is at
SMK Yos Soedarso Sidareja. And to know the concept and implementation of learning
PAI based multicultural in SMK Yos Soedarso Sidareja.
This research is field research in the form of descriptive analysis. While the
approach used in this study is a sociology approach, where the pattern of this approach is
emphasized on aspects of behavior that requires togetherness, adjustment, both in
individuals and social. Primary data sources from this research are principal, deputy head
of student affair, deputy head of curriculum affair, PAI Teachers, and Vocational School
Students Yos Soedarso Sidareja.
The result of the research showed the answer of the three problems above: (1) the
background of the learning of PAI based on multicultural at SMK Yos Soedarso Sidareja
is because of the diversity or plurality owned by the school, but also due to the principles
of education applied in this SMK National principle that held firmly in the 1945
constitution of articles 1 and 2, and the National education system law. (2) the concept of
multicultural-based PAI at SMK Yos Soedarso Sidareja consisted of history, urgency, and
multicultural values in a multicultural-based PAI. The history of multicultural-based PAI
began when the establishment of SMK Yos Soedarso Sidareja, with some urgency such
as plural learners, cultural influences on the development of learners, and the existence.
As for multicultural values in the learning of PAI based multicultural in SMK Yos
Soedarso Sidareja is the value of pluralism. The process or implementation of
multicultural-based Islamic education at SMK Yos Soedarso Sidareja consisted of
planning, preparation, and evaluation. For planning process done by all PAI teacher
before doing learning, by making RPP which poured from school syllabus,
implementation of PAI learning based on multagiural at SMK Yos Soedarso Sidareja,
done once a week with allocation time 3 hour every week. The steps in the learning
process among teachers also vary. Some read Asmaul Husnah first before learning, those
who advocate tadarus before learning. As for the evaluation of PAI learning based on
multagiural SMK Yos Soedarso Sidareja there were three test, non tes, and assessment of
spiritual attitude
