"Several points underlie the study of Arabic-learning models in\r\nIndonesia. Firstly, despite the shift of paradigm from teacher\r\ncentered approach to student centered one, studies of student-based\r\nlearning are not frequently conducted. Arabic is no exception.\r\nSecondly, the number of Islam-based schools, such as madrasah,\r\npesantren and the like, is abundant, yet these schools lack of Arabic\r\nlearning models that lead their students to a success in learning. The\r\nhistory shows that Arabic has been learnt since the arrival of Islam\r\nmissionaries in Indonesia. It also indicates that there have thousands\r\nof Indonesians been learning the language; among them are Arabic\r\nteachers. Thirdly, the motivasion and interest of Islamic-base school\r\nstudents are very low due to inadequate number of fascinating\r\nmodels of learning available. Therefore this research focuses on three\r\nbasic questions. What learning experience is useful in Indonesia?\r\nWhich models of learning Arabic are appropriate? What points make\r\nthe subjects of the study succeed?\r\nThis is a qualitative interactive research with a collective case\r\ntype of study. The data taken from an interview and documentasion\r\nare analysedusing qualitative data analisis, whereas the case study is\r\nanalysed with situasion analisis and comparison analisis. Data are\r\nvalidated their credibillity by member-check, their transferability by\r\nthe teachers‟ respons toward the findings, and their dependability and\r\nconfirmability by audit trail technique conducted by both promotors.\r\nThe results of the study are as follow: 1) two competences in\r\nArabic-learning experience (i.e. receptive and productive ) were\r\nrevealed. 2) In general, there were two basic Arabic-learning models;\r\nreceptive competence learning with 9 models and productive competence learning with 15 models. 3) There were 6 factors that\r\nsupport the success in learning Arabic; external motivasion, internal\r\nmotivasion, a competence teacher, a caring teacher, an easy\r\nunderstanding teacher, supportive environment.\r\nIn terms of Arabic learning theory, the study contributes the\r\ntheory of acting and moving in learning Arabic."^^ .
