N2  - Bantul Regency is an area having sufficiently good potential, in addition of
sugarcane plantation, there is also Mangunan Fruit Farm in Dlingo Subdistrict.
The high price of imported fruits gives opportunity for local fruits to compete in
market share. However by the still low quality fruits makes this opportunity face
barriers. One of the impetus of low quality of fruits is the incident of invasion of
diptera tephritidae. It is one of hampering pest for fruit plants of which become its
invasion object. The affected fruits by diptera tephritidae will be rotten and fell
down before the appropriate time, thus it causes the decline of fruit crops.
The purpose of this research was to know the species of diphtera
tephritidae attacting various fruit plants in Mangunan Fruit Farm, Dlingo
Subdistrict, Bantul Regency. The type of this research was explorative and
trapping, by descriptive method using purposive sampling technique.
The fruits invaded by diptera tephritidae in Mangunan Fruit Farm are
starfruit, guava, jambu, orange, papaya, mango, jambu dersono, and jambu mete.
Morphologic observation of identification diptera tephritidae from host rearing
gained 3 species of diptera tephritidae come from genus Bactrocera, i.e.
Bactrocera carambolae (Drew and Hancock), Bactrocera papayae, and
Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel).
