However, individuals often experience fear and anxiety when socializing, known as social anxiety. This phenomenon often occurs in students who show indications of worrying about the final project, shame, negative fear and avoidance of social interactions. These things may have a bad effect on behavior and emotional regulation in students. Handling it requires self-control with kindness and positive thinking known as self-compassion. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and social anxiety in the final students of the Islamic Banking study at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The research hypothesis is that there is a relationship between self-compassion and social anxiety. The research sample consisted of 65 students from the 2017 and 2018 batches through the cluster random sampling technique. This research is a quantitative research with correlational method. The measuring instrument used is the self-compassion scale and the social anxiety scale. Data analysis using Product Moment correlation technique from Pearson using IBM SPSS 23.0 for Windows program. The results of the analysis show that there is a negative relationship between self-compassion and social anxiety with a correlation coefficient level of -0.617 with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.01).
