This newspaper had a role in the spread of Haji Misbach's ideas. The idea included Islamic discourse and resistance against the Dutch East Indies government, which at that time oppressed and blackmailed the small people. To fight this injustice, Haji Misbach combined the ideology of Islam and Socialism as a weapon against the tyranny of the colonial government and local authorities. This study uses historical methods, namely topic selection, heuritics, criticism of interpretation sources, and historiography. The sources used are the Medan Moselimin magazine and other contemporary magazines found in the Jakarta National Library and grants from various parties. In addition, secondary sources include reference books and scientific journals. This research uses a political approach and the history of thought assisted by media discourse theory. Macdonell defines discourse as closely related to social context, namely everything related to conversation and writing. Presentation of data in the form of descriptive analysis chronologically. Research Results The birth of the Medan Moeslimin magazine is a response to Haji Misbach's concern in seeing the condition of the people of Surakarta. The ethical political policy of the Dutch colonial government opened the door for the birth of the Bumiputera journalism movement, this openness was used by Misbach to establish Medan Moeslimin. This magazine became an engine of Misbach's resistance to protest against the tyranny of the colonial government. By combining Islam and communism, Medan Moeslimin became one of the most vocal newspapers at that time. In addition, Medan Moselimin also became a mouthpiece of da'wah in answering the problems of Muslim life at that time.} }
