N2  - Oppression does not only occur among society in general, it is also often found in stories in novels or short stories. Many authors who raise the theme of oppression in their works, indirectly remind us of the badness of these actions and we must avoid or even stay away from these actions. The consequences of these actions are always negative. Al-K?bus is a collection of short stories by Najib Al-Kailani in which there are 16 story titles. Of the 16 titles, there are 9 titles that contain elements of oppression, ranging from oppression of women and also oppression of small people. This study aims to reveal the form, meaning and function of the various styles of oppression in the collection of short stories of Al-K?bus. To reveal it all, the researcher juxtaposed two disciplines, namely stylistics and pragmatics which were considered to be able to provide maximum results in achieving the objectives of this research. This research is included in qualitative descriptive research. In the analysis, the researcher applies the areas of stylistic studies initiated by Syihabuddin Qalyubi such as the morphological domain (al-mustawa al-?arfi), the syntactic domain (al-mustawa al-nahwi au al-tark?bi), the semantic domain (al-mustawa al- dal?li) and the realm of imagery (al-mustawa al-ta?w?ri) and continued with a discussion of speech acts from pragmatics. The results of this study indicate that there are three models of language style used in suppression in the collection of short stories of Al-K?bus. The three styles of language style are tasyb?h, majaz and kinayah. In the realm of meaning or al-mustawa al-dal?li, there are words that contain synonyms or al-taroduf, antonyms or al-ta?odand also polysemy. As for the speech model, there are 8 data included in the illocutionary speech act and 7 data included in the locutionary speech act, all of which function as oppressive sentences.
