%T STRATEGI DAN PENGEMBANGAN PERPUSTAKAAN BERBASIS INKLUSI SOSIAL DALAM PROGRAM PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DESA PAYA TUMPI BARU KABUPATEN ACEH TENGAH
%X The purpose of this study is to determine the Paya Tumpi Baru Village
Library's social inclusion-based library development strategy in the community
empowerment program, the types of library development, community
empowerment activities, and obstacles encountered, as well as the efforts made to
overcome obstacles. The data of the study was collected through observation,
structured interviews, and documentation using a qualitative descriptive method.
Purposive sampling is a data collection approach in which data is collected from
those who know and have basic information about the research issue, in this case
the village head, library manager, and users. Furthermore, the data analysis was
through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drafting. The researcher then
employed technological triangulation and sources, as well as a member check, to
test the data's validity.
The results of this study revealed that: (1) The Paya Tumpi Baru Village
Library's strategy for establishing social inclusion-based libraries as part of the
community empowerment program was to provide relevant collections, provide
internet and computer services, engage the community, and conduct advocacy. (2)
The type of library development that is carried out is educational development,
which includes activities such as increasing reading interest, improving learning
capacity, and developing potential and skills. (3) The community empowerment
activities carried out in its implementation are separated into those coming from the
partnership process with the Paya Tumpi Baru Village Children's Forum and those
coming from the Paya Tumpi Baru Village Library's personal idea. (4) The Paya
Tumpi Baru Village Library faces challenges such as a lack of funding, restricted
time for library services, decreased interest of children and young boys in visits and
participation in empowerment activities, and limited space and movement.
Meanwhile, the efforts made to overcome these obstacles are cooperating, relying
on cash, relying on existing goods and equipment, conducting deliberation,
providing direction, involving the role of the village head, and carrying out simple
activities.
