N2  - Amendments to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Law Number 30 of 2002 amended by Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission. In the amendment to the Law, several articles were added, one of which was highlighted was the wiretapping article, namely Article 12B, Article 12C and Article 12D, which required prior permission from the supervisory board before the KPK conducted wiretapping. As a result of these changes, it has implications for the performance of the KPK in carrying out its duties and authorities.
This research is a library research with a juridical normative approach. Sources of data used in this study consisted of primary, secondary, and tertiary data. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive analytical with siy?sa dust?riyyah perspective.
The results show that the implications of changing the wiretapping mechanism in Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission affect the performance of the KPK which is slightly slower. The wiretapping mechanism in this Law requires written permission from the supervisory board. The implication of changing the KPK's new task mechanism is a decrease in the number of cases handled by the KPK. In 2017 there were 182 cases, in 2018 there were 274 cases, in 2019 there were 268 cases, in 2020 there were 208 cases and in 2021 it decreased to 127 cases. Another implication is the declining level of public trust in the KPK in handling corruption cases. As for the authority of the KPK, if viewed from the perspective of the siy?sa dust?riyyah with its basic principles, it cannot achieve justice because after the amendment to the law it benefits corruptors. And it does not bring benefits because the cases handled by the KPK have decreased and there is debate in the community regarding the wiretapping article
