Najib, M.Ag abstract: Gender inequality is often found in the realm of the state, society and household . Gender inequality also occurs in husband-wife relationships in the household. The patriarchal culture that has developed from generation to generation has resulted in women being always placed in the domestic sphere. So women are always required to be able to complete all housework where the work tends to be complicated and requires a lot of visuals. The patriarchal culture has also been believed by the wider community, so that gender can be said to be fair if there is no marginalization, subordination, stereotypes, double burdens and violence against women. Based on pre-research data that has been carried out, so far the existing literature and research has focused more on opinions about gender to organizations or figures who are considered gender understanding. So in this study, I want to try something else to fill the existing gaps and find a balance using existing theories because there are still few opinions or views from women's organizational figures in this case the Tasikmalaya West Java Persistri Organization because they are more existent and actively hold activities regarding relationships. husband and wife relations in the family, including establishing a Family Consultation Institute. The research method is carried out by going directly to the field (field research) to interview several Persistri figures in depth, using Gender Theory which is then processed qualitatively to find a research conclusion, using the Muslim Feminism approach. This study found that the interviewed Persistri figures agreed on a balanced gender relationship between husband and wife, namely in the case of a wife who enters the public world to earn a living. Then the permissibility of a wife who becomes the head of the family for certain reasons. Whereas in marriage, the guardian is still the father of the bride, but still allows women to be Khatib for the marriage sermon. Furthermore, regarding the rights and obligations of husband and wife, if drawn into gender relations, they must hold the principle of egalitarian and collegial relations so that the concept of mubdah in the family goes well. The Persistri organization experienced a paradigm shift from Puritan Islam to moderate-progressive Islam in which Persistri did not treat religion like a frozen monument but treat it within the framework of a dynamic and active faith. The typology of Persistri's view on gender relations between husband and wife can be categorized into a Soft-Moderate-Progressive typology, because on the one hand this view still agrees with fiqh provisions that are considered gender biased, such as guardians, and on the other hand, they continue to reinterpret some texts that are considered misogynistic or gender bias. date: 2022-05-31 date_type: published pages: 159 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SYARI’AH DAN HUKUM thesis_type: masters thesis_name: other citation: Devi Azwinda, S.H., NIM:. 20203011047 (2022) RELASI GENDER SUAMI ISTRI DALAM PANDANGAN TOKOH PERSISTRI TASIKMALAYA JAWA BARAT.
