Reeser, Hak Perempuan note: Pembimbing: Dr. Danial Hidayatullah, S.S., M.Hum abstract: This study aims to find out the reason Malala remains steadfast in voicing women's rights which is carried out by Malala. Malala was a woman who almost died from being shot by the Taliban; the reason why she was fired was that she insisted on speaking out for the rights of women who were oppressed by Mullah Fazlullah and his followers. The shooting carried out by the Taliban on Mullah's orders was carried out because Malala ignored the rules set by the Mullah. As a father to Malala, Ziauddin did not remain silent and tried to help Malala in voicing women’s rights. Ziauddin condemned Mullah's actions which he thought were very cruel. The researcher analyzed the masculinity act in Ziauddin and compared it with Mullah to find out what made Malala insist on voicing women's rights. The research method carried out by the researcher is a qualitative method and uses the theory of masculinity by Todd W. Reeser to explain the meaning of the components of masculinity, such as discourse, strength, instability, and representation. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it is the figure of a father like Ziauddin who makes Malala stronger and more confident to continue speaking out for women's rights. Even though according to the analysis, Ziauddin's masculinity is Non-hegemonic masculinity, he remains the primary role model for his daughter, Malala. date: 2022-08-24 date_type: published pages: 70 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS ADAB DAN ILMU BUDAYA thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Ahmad Zahid Elyasa, NIM.: 15150054 (2022) COMPARING MASCULINITIES IN HE NAMED ME MALALA (2015).
