abstract: People with non-congenital physical disabilities have various kinds of problems. It isn’t easy for people with disabilities to get through the conditions they are in. Of course, to maintain their existence, they need abilities to face the challenges and obstacles that arise after experiencing a state of disability. The aim of this study was to get an overview of the adversity quotient in middle adults with non-congenital physical disabilities. Informants in this study are two people who have non-congenital physical disabilities. The research method used a qualitative method with phenomenological approach. Results of this study show the description of the adversity quotient of the two informants relates to 4 themes, namely bad conditions after an accident, internal and external obstacles, challenges faced, and internal and external processes or efforts that were carried out in dealing with challenges and obstacles. In this study, it was shown that both informants faced challenges in the form of difficulties in finding work after disability. Obstacles experienced are difficulty practicing walking and difficulty in mobility. The process or effort to overcome obstacles and challenges were perseverance in the process of recovering physical conditions, building good motivation, increasing religiosity, increasing productivity, and increasing enthusiasm for learning new things.
