For overseas students, back to home is one of the factors that support happiness. In reality, the Covid 19 pandemic has prevented overseas students from back home town and meeting with their parents. This study aims to determine the happiness overseas students in Yogyakarta who do not go home during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Informants were selected using purposeful sampling technique with the criteria of overseas students who are currently persuing undergraduate education in Yogyakarta at least 1 during the Covid 19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative methodology with a phenomenological approach. The collections tehniques used were non-participant observation and semi-structured interviews. Data analysis in this study consisted of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the happiness of the four informants felt was different. Three of four informants feel sad when they don?t go hometown during the pandemic. One of the four informants actually felt happy when they did not go hometown during the pandemic because they were far from their parents and felt free.
