        abstract = {The Advisory Board for the Guidance and Preservation of Marriage (BP4) as an institution that seeks to improve the quality of marriage in this case helps the prospective bride and groom to achieve the goal of building a sakinah family. In its implementation, BP4 in Central Teweh District has not run properly according to the results of the 15th National Conference where BP4 which was previously a semi-official institution became a partner institution of the Ministry of Religion in realizing a sakinah family. Therefore, the authors are encouraged to examine the role of BP4 in an effort to create a sakinah family in the KUA, Central Teweh District. This study focuses on the role and efforts of BP4 which is still based in KUA in an effort to help the community create a sakinah family. 
This research is a field research with descriptive analysis with a juridical-empirical. The research data was obtained by using several data collection techniques while the method used was interviews with 5 KUA employees, then direct observation at KUA and BP4 Central Teweh District, as well as documentation obtained from interviews and observations. While the data analysis method used in this study is inductive data analysis which starts from empirical facts not from theoretical deduction. 
The results of the study found that there are two main roles of BP4 KUA Teweh Tengah in realizing the sakinah family,are first providing pre-marital marriage guidance for prospective brides and second, providing post-marital sakinah family guidance for married couples who face domestic conflicts. The supporting factors for BP4 in realizing a sakinah family are expert extension workers, a national program for fostering marriage and sakinah families in cross-sectoral collaboration with the Health Service and the Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance, a guide book published by the Ministry of Religion and a complimentary book "Risalah Pernikahan" issued by the BP4 KUA Sub-district counselor Central Teweh. While the inhibiting factors are internal institutional factors such as independent operational financing and external factors from the bride and groom couple or married couples who receive guidance/coaching from BP4 Central Teweh District such as not having special time, unable to take time for marriage guidance activities, problems that arise arise from each character that is difficult to change, the rest comes back to personal and internal family factors.}
