This type of research is a qualitative field research with the object of the Matchmaking Tradition in the Al-H{\=a}di Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis which seeks to provide a detailed description of the problem of matchmaking which is generally carried out in the Al-H{\=a}di Islamic Boarding School family. The approach used is a sociological-normative approach, where this study analyzes the problems carried out by combining secondary data material from classical books in which the Maq{\=a}{\d s}id ash-syari'ah theory with primary materials in the field, which is related to the tradition of matchmaking in the family Al-H{\=a}di Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques with interviews, observations, documentation and library materials as complementary materials. The results of this study, technically indicate that the practice of matchmaking in the Al-H{\=a}di Islamic Boarding School family is a common tradition in every Islamic Boarding School. The implementation of matchmaking in the Al-H{\=a}di Islamic Boarding School family frees children to accept or reject this matchmaking, because matchmaking in this family does not force the child to be with the parents' choice, ibut the parents only find a potential partner for the child. In this matchmaking practice, 4 children have been matched, the results of this matchmaking are all still running properly and marriages vary in time and distance. In the Maq{\=a}{\d s}id ash-shari'ah perspective of the matchmaking of the Al-H{\=a}di Islamic Boarding School family, there are 3 important things that must be achieved from the goal, namely: 1. avoiding immorality, 2. creating a golden generation, 3. continuing the struggle of the Islamic boarding school. From the results of this study, that this matchmaking can be used as an example for some matchmaking that occurs in other Islamic boarding schools, on the one hand to continue the struggle of the pesantren on the one hand, it does not harm the matched party, namely their own children, so that later a harmonious family can be created at any time.} }
