In addition, during the online learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic, it caused physical problems and psychological problems in students. The purpose of this study is to empirically test whether there is a relationship between social media fatigue and academic stress in students in Yogyakarta during online learning in the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants of this study were 100 students studying at Yogyakarta University and were taking semesters 1-5 with a full online learning system. This research uses quantitative methods with sampling techniques, namely quota sampling. The data collection of this study was carried out using the student life stress inventory scale and social media fatigue scale. Data analysis in this study uses simple linear regression analysis techniques.. The results of this study showed that there was a positive relationship between social media fatigue and academic stress in students during online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Social media fatigue also have 22,4% effective contribution towards stress academic. The resulr of the different tests conducted showed that were no significant differences in academic stress on gender and age.
