abstract: This study aims to find out what factors are behind tahfidz students becoming angry and sad and to find out how the dynamics carried out by tahfidz students in managing emotions so that they do not become negative angry and sad emotions. This type of research is qualitative research with phenomenological methods. Data collection using observation and interview methods on four subjects and four informants. The results of this study show that there are two factors behind the emotions of anger and sadness in students, namely internal and external factors. Then the pattern of tahfidz students in managing angry and sad emotions varies greatly. However, it is dominated by the transfer of emotions to positive things (displacement) and self-appeasement before determining action (Cognitive Adjusment). While the rest do self-muhasabah accepting the situation with chest airiness (Coping).
