%X The number of cases of sexual violence has attracted the attention of filmmakers  to make films that address this issue. Films that address the issue of sexual  violence often portray women as weak victims and men as dominant perpetrators.  This can influence the public's view of sexual violence. Penyalin Cahaya depicts  sexual violence in a different light from other films. Penyalin Cahaya focuses  more on exposing cases of sexual violence and presents a male figure who can  also be a victim of sexual violence to form a new perspective for the audience.  This study used the descriptive-qualitative method. To be more specific, the  research is limited to scenes in the film that are thought to depict sexual violence.  These scenes were then identified for their cinematic elements and analyzed using  Roland Barthes' semiotics. The results of the study show that there are  representations of sexual violence in the form of physical and non-physical sexual  harassment, sexual exploitation, and sexual control. There are also  representations about perpetrators of sexual violence who have more power than  victims, male victims who receive masculine stigma from a patriarchal society,  and survivors who receive judgment and suppression.
