"This dissertation explores the survival strategy of RA Al-\r\nWashliyah (Islamic Kindergarten affiliated with Al-Washliyah\r\nIslamic organization) amidst the mushrooming establishment of\r\nPreschool institutions in Asahan Regency. The learning concept\r\noffered by Islamic Preschool institutions has served as an important\r\nconcern in the contestation of Preschool institutions. Despite the\r\nproliferation of numerous Preschool institutions established by the\r\ngovernment, and non-governmental organizations, the Preschool\r\ninstitutions established by Islamic organizations has a special place\r\nin society, which makes it interesting to study the survival strategy\r\nof Preschool institutions established by Islamic organizations amidst\r\nthe development of other Preschool institutions.\r\nThis dissertation was written based on Talcott Parsons'\r\nstructural functionalism and Max Weber's theory of authority using\r\nqualitative and a phenomenological approach. This research was\r\nconducted at some Kindergartens affiliated with Al-Washliyah (RA\r\nAl-Washliyah) in Asahan Regency, namely RA Al-Washliyah\r\nKisaran, RA Al-Washliyah Meranti, and RA Al-Washliyah Teluk\r\nDalam. These three Kindergartens are located in three different subdistricts\r\nwith different regional and cultural backgrounds. This study\r\nused primary data sources, derived from school principals, teachers,\r\nparents, Muslims and Al-Washliyah administrators, and secondary\r\ndata, derived from religious leaders and community leaders in\r\nAsahan Regency. The data were collected through direct\r\nobservation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data were\r\nanalyzed through the stages of data condensation, data presentation\r\nand drawing conclusions/verification. The validity of the data was\r\nchecked using triangulation techniques and sources.\r\nIt was revealed that, First, RA Al-Washliyah was able to\r\nsurvive amidst the proliferation of other Preschool institutions in\r\nAsahan Regency, as they were supported by four system functions\r\nbuilt by the institution. In terms of adaptation, RA Al-Washliyah adapted their learning activities on child development, and learning\r\nactivities as a way answer community needs and organize adaptive\r\nlearning based of the times. In terms of goal attainment, RA Al-\r\nWashliyah formulated a clear vision, mission, and learning\r\nobjectives, challenges and adapted children's development,\r\nstrengthened spiritual-based learning with interesting concepts for\r\nchildren. In terms of integration, RA Al-Washliyah integrated the\r\nnational Preschool curriculum with the Al-Washliyahan curriculum\r\n(curriculum established by Al-Washliyah Islamic organization),\r\nmanifested in collaborative actions to design additional learning\r\nactivities with Islamic arts. However, the integration process of RA\r\nAl-Washliyah Asahan was still far from optimal due to a lack of\r\ncoordination with Al-Washliyah Muslim leaders and Al-Washliyah\r\nadministrators. In terms of latency, RA Al-Washliyah improved\r\nlearning infrastructure to support children's development potential,\r\nparticipate in community activities by providing religious\r\nunderstanding to the community, and become a charismatic preacher\r\nwith strong authority. The highlight on religious charismatic\r\nauthority by the entire academic community of educational\r\ninstitutions is the focal point to attract public interest and win their\r\ntrust. Second, the learning applied at RA Al-Washliyah served as an\r\neffort of Al-Washliyah Islamic organization in introducing the\r\nvalues of Islamic teachings and the values of Al-Washliyah to\r\nchildren from an early age. Al-Washliyah presented religious values\r\nby strengthening a spiritual and Al-Washliyah-based learning\r\ncurriculum, which consisted of introduction to Al-Washliyah\r\norganizations, such as history, foundations of faith and worship, and\r\nsymbols and songs of Al-Washliyah. The learning process was\r\nstrengthened through memorization programs of several surahs in\r\nthe Al-Quran, hadith and their translations with hand movements."^^ . "2022-12-08" . . . .
