description: This study wants to examine the discourse or methodology and practice of critical reasoning found in Islamic Gender Justice (KGI) and to find out how the perception of self-concept is formed in the KGI ngaji congregation who have an activist background. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological approach. The subjects in this study were the KGI Koran Team, namely the founder of the KGI Koran, Nur Rofiah as the key informant, and several other informants. The subject selection technique is purposive sampling. Collecting data in research through participatory observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study used Pierre Bourdieu's theory of genetic structuralism regarding the methodology and practice of the Koran Koran KGI. This study found that there is a discourse or methodology owned by the Koran KGI, namely Keadilan Hakiki Perempuan. Essential Justice for Women emphasizes that women's biological experience is part of the human experience which is a shared responsibility and women's social experience must be abolished. With the key concept of the KGI Koran discourse, there is an applicative practice of the KGI Koran to realize true justice for women, namely by the existence of a series of KGI Korans including serial KGI Korans, regular KGI Korans and optimization of new media for KGI Korans. The author finds that there are strengths of habitus, capital, and arena battles so this becomes the main attraction for KGI Koran. Through the discourse and practice of the KGI Koran, this study confirms that there is a strengthening of the self-concept of the KGI Koran congregation, which is to become an empowered figure, which in turn brings empowerment to the Jama'ah community by bringing the values of the KGI Koran. In addition, the KGI Koran congregation also has the strengthening of critical reasoning power in viewing a phenomenon.
