%X Zakat is a maliyyah ijtimā'iyyah worship which has a very important and
strategically decisive position, both in terms of Islamic teachings and in terms of
developing the welfare of the people. Profession zakat is a term that has recently
emerged that salaf scholars call it al-māl al-mustafād. The Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ)
of the Ministry of Religion of Bantul Regency is the only institution authorized to carry
out the task of collecting employee zakat in the area of the Ministry of Religion of
Bantul Regency. This study intends to find out and analyze the performance of the UPZ
Office of the Ministry of Religion of Bantul Regency in managing professional zakat
originating from the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Office of the Ministry of
Religion of Bantul Regency.
This research is a field research with a sociological approach. The location of
this research was at the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of the Ministry of Religion, Bantul
Regency, with data collection through observation, documentation and interviews.
While data analysis using inductive reasoning method.
The results of the analysis obtained in this study show that in the performance
of professional zakat management, the performance carried out by the UPZ of the
Ministry of Religion of Bantul Regency is in accordance with good corporate
governance. Whereas the nature of legal compliance has 3 (three) factors that cause
citizens to comply with the law, including: a. Compliance, b. Identification, c
Internalization. Become a factor for the management of the UPZ office of the Ministry
of Religion of Bantul Regency to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
