The purpose of this study was to analyze the suitability of positive law with the views of the Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah of the City of Yogyakarta regarding the limitations of a wife's obedience to her husband in the household. This type of research is qualitative research in the form of field research. the location of this research is at PCM Wirobrajan and PCNU Yogyakarta City. The approach used in this study is a normative juridical approach and uses descriptive analysis methods. By obtaining data through interviews with sources from PCM Wirobrajan and PCNU Yogyakarta City, the researchers analyzed the data using a predetermined theory. The conclusion of this study according to PCNU's view is that the obedience of a wife to her husband is absolute. As for his obedience, it is limited by something that is contrary to the benefits of marriage and syara'. Meanwhile, the PCM view that the wife's obedience to her husband is conditional, that is, as long as the husband carries out his obligations in the household, the husband must be obeyed. If the husband is reluctant or unable to provide a living to his wife, then the wife is not obliged to obey him. According to the juridical theory of proportionality in accordance with Articles 30 and 31 of Law no. 1 of 1974 and article 79 of the Compilation of Islamic Law, namely that the wife has the same rights and status before the law as her husband. So the PCNU's view is not in line with these rules because PCNU believes that obedience to a wife is absolute and is limited by syara' law and things that conflict with the benefits of marriage, whereas according to PCM obedience to a wife is a conditional thing, when the husband carries out his obligations in the household then at that time the wife must comply. This means that in the household there needs to be a reciprocal relationship between husband and wife. Therefore, PCM's view is in line with the rule. As for normatively the limitation of wife's obedience to her husband in the household is in accordance with the principles of mu{\=a}dalah, mubilah, and muwazanah, PCNU's view is not in line with the principles of mubilah and muwazanah because they do not obey each other and are not balanced so that the husband dominates the family more, while PCM's view is more in line with the concept of proportionality because, PCM upholds the value of egalter or equal rights and status which in this case is in accordance with the principles of mu{\=a}dalah, mubadalah, and muwazanah while PCNU believes that obedience to a wife to her husband is absolute so it is not in accordance with the principles of mubalah and muwazanah .} }
