The affective domain includes complex things related to the student's experience such as attitudes, interests, motivations, feelings and others. The difficulty and confusion of teachers in conducting affective domain assessments is the background of this research. The purpose of this study is to determine the design of the affective realm assessment used by teachers of Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Bondowoso, the form of assessment methods used, and the results of the affective domain assessment. This research is a type of field study (field research) using qualitative research methodology. This study uses a phenomenological approach to determine the design of affective domain assessments applied in PAI subjects. Data collection was carried out directly to the field located at SMA Negeri 2 Bondowoso, East Java to find out how the assessment design used by PAI teachers, as well as the results of the assessment. Research data were obtained through observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data analysis technique of this study refers to Miles and Huberman's model, namely: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that: First, the design of affective assessment in PAI class XI subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Bondowoso is started with the preparation of RPP, affective strengthening when in class and outside the classroom, and the implementation of assessment. In the preparation of the RPP, it was found that PAI teachers had not fully compiled learning objectives based on the ABCD formation. Second, the results of the affective domain assessment on PAI subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Bondowoso refer to the implementation of the 2013 curriculum which is then described through affective levels such as receiving, responding, valuing, organization, and characterizing. The results of the affective assessment in question are in the form of students' understanding of religious values, enthusiasm for doing sunnah worship, being honest, responsible, caring, responsive and pro-active. This research contributes to readers as a form of designing affective domain assessments in PAI subjects in terms of phenomemology approaches.
