The social condition of the community that has undergone\r\ntransformation makes the textual understanding of this verse demanding to be\r\nreconstructed taking into account the historical context of both micro and macro.\r\nTherefore the study intends to review QS. an-Nisa [4]:11-14 and contextualize\r\nwith the waris of daughters in adat mandailing using the ma‟na cum maghza\r\napplication.\r\nThis study is a literature review (library research) with a critical analytical\r\napproach using the theory of ma'na cum maghza which has two main steps,\r\nnamely uncovering historical significance (al-maghza at-tarikhi) by searching for\r\nhistorical meaning (ma‟na at-tarikhi) in linguistic analysis, intratectuality,\r\nintertextuality, historical context analysis and uncovering the main message of the\r\nverse. Then the next step reveals the contemporary dynamic significance (almaghza\r\nal-mutaharrikh al-Mu'assir) of QS. An-Nisa [4]: 11-14.\r\nThe contemporary dynamic significance found in this verse is: first men and\r\nwomen get equal rights in inheritance, taraka is property left by a deceased person\r\nfor the survival of the heirs. The form of taraka in the contemporary era can be\r\nunderstood from three aspects, including historical aspects, sociological aspects\r\nand legal aspects.
