abstract: Web based admission of new student information system already applied by
some universities in Indonesia, and STMIK AMIKOM Yogyakarta also applied
it. But the problem is still a lot of prospective students who find it difficult with such
systems lack features online registration payment confirmation. Then the next
problem is not all candidates have a computer that connected to the internet, so it
needs to WAP-based system applied to the prospective student can also access the
system via mobile phone.
The research method in this research used the development of the system,
namely designing experiments to web based admission of new student information
system that can be accessed by web browsers and WAP-based that accessed by
mobile phone. Admission of new student information system was built with the PHP
programming language, HTML and WML tags, and MySQL as the database server.
The results of this study is web based admission of new student information
system already has the ability to make it easier for prospective new students to obtain
all the information about student admission and registration process as well as online
registration payment confirmation. For prospective students who do not have internet
connected computer, can access the system by using mobile phones equipped with
WAP easily.
