"CPU scheduling should preserve fairness and avoid processes\r\nfrom do not ever obtain CPU. Modern operating system era\r\nfaces multitasking on computer operational environment. If\r\nCPU scheduling is efficient, high computation could be done\r\ncorrectly and system could be retained stable. One criterion\r\nthat must be achieved by scheduling algorithm is\r\nminimization average waiting time for a set of processes in\r\ngaining CPU allocation. There are several algorithms for CPU\r\nscheduling; one of them is Round Robin. Round Robin\r\nsupplies quantum that is same for each of processes.\r\nHowever, there is no standard for quantum. Inevitably, if\r\nquantum is very high, response/waiting time for each process\r\ncould be high, and otherwise, there is an increasing CPU\r\noverhead for context switching. This research concerns with\r\nimproving Round Robin performance. Our approach is to\r\ncombine Round Robin with Genetic algorithm. In this\r\napproach, an individual is a quantum that will be iterated for\r\nachieving best quantum that will produce minimal average\r\nwaiting time. We use integer number for representing a\r\nchromosome with length three. Furthermore, we use roulette\r\nwheel method for parent selection and steady state\r\nreplacement technique for survival selection.
