Sukiman, M.Pd. abstract: The Iqra' method and the ummi method are popular Al-Qur'an learning methods in Yogyakarta, so it is undeniable that parents' interest in choosing an institution that applies these two methods in learning the Qur'an is very high. However, the problem that often occurs is parents' doubts in choosing between the Iqra and Ummi methods which can guide their children to learn to read the Qur'an. So this research needs to be done to see differences in the level of ability to read the Qur'an using the Iqra' method and the Ummi method. The purpose of this study was to see the comparison of the Iqra method and the Ummi method in learning the Qur'an in terms of implementation and the level of ability to read the Koran for students using the Iqra' method and the Ummi method. This type of research is a combination research, which combines qualitative and quantitative research methods with the Concurrent Embedded Design approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, tests. Data analysis used is qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. Based on the research results, it was found that the implementation of the Iqra and Ummi methods was carried out in almost the same stages. The similarities between the two methods are that both have learning objectives, the material delivered is in accordance with the volume, there are core activities, there are closings, there are classical learning and private learning, the teacher warns when students make mistakes in reading and evaluating learning. While the difference between the two methods is in the opening, the Ummi method does not open. Then there is the use of teaching aids, the Iqra' method only utilizes the Iqra' book in learning, while the Ummi method besides using Ummi's book also uses teaching aids. Differences in the level of ability to read the Qur'an based on the results of the Al-Qur'an reading test using the Iqra method and the Ummi method are categorized as having the ability to read the Al-Qur'an. This can be seen from the average value of students using the Iqra method which is 56.87 and the Ummi method is 57.73. The sig (P) value obtained was 0.134 > 0.05, so H0 was accepted and H1 was rejected. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the level of ability to read the Koran at TPA AMM Yogyakarta and the Qur'an Training Center Al-Mady.
