abstract: This research examines journalism extracurricular management at MTs Ali Maksum Yogyakarta. This is motivated by the fact that information technology that is accessed without filtering will have an impact on the spread of fake news (hoax). Because with journalism extracurriculars it is hoped that they will be able to find news, process news and deliver news with should. The qualitative research methodology is a case study. Methods of data collection by interviews, observation, documentation. Data analysis techniques using (flowchart analysis). The results of the study show that management extracurricular journalism at MTs Ali Maksum Yogyakarta, namely: 1). Planning extracurricular journalism held in year teachings new Includes: Recruitment student, plans budget and funding, elections tutor, planning activities. 2). Organizing extracurricular journalism head school, coordinator extracurricular journalism, chief part, tentor journalism, 3). Implementation extracurricular journalism Includes: Steps recruitment students, funding budget, means infrastructure, methods learning look for news, processing news, deliver news. 4). Control and evaluation done every day by officers picket whereas evaluation form meeting done three times per one semester. Supporting factors: licensing easy, room strategic, means infrastructure adequate, qualified teacher. Inhibiting factor: management time not enough well, less access the internet. Attempts to overcome obstacle minimize late, frequent read and access the internet by borrowing the dormitory’s laptop.
