Children with disabilities need special care, these conditions make parents face many challenges and obstacles so that not many parents finally accept children with disabilities gracefully. This scientific writing aims to find out the parental acceptance process that has children with disabilities at SLB Negeri 2 Indramayu and the constraints in the process. There are difference in this research with research that has been done lies in the subject and inhibiting factors of self acceptance of parents with different classifications of children with disabilities who attend SLB Negeri 2 Indramayu on at the elementary to junior high school levels. The Theory that forms the basis of The Five Stages of Grief by Kubler Ross in 1969 stated that the parental process includes five stages, namely deniar, anger, bargainingm depression, and acceptance. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research through analysis of actions, perceptions, and behavior of the subject matter of the problem. The data collection technique was carried out using a purposive and representative sampling technique. The results of the study show that parents go through stages until they finally accept with disabilities for different lengths of time, not always according to the order, and parents are also sometimes inconsistent in term of acceptance. In achieving parental acceptance are also faced with factors that hinder the process. There are internal and external obstacles, including new parents’ experience, economic level, heavy emotional pressure, educational pressure, extended family environment, and living environment.
