Currently this supercapacitor has shown outstanding performance as an environmentally friendly energy storage system. One of the raw materials that can be used as activated carbon is coffee grounds. Coffee grounds activated carbon can be used as a supercapacitor electrode. This research aims to make activated carbon with the basic ingredients of coffee grounds, determine the effect of carbonization temperature and activator on the quality of activated carbon produced, and make and test the performance of supercapacitors on capacitance and voltage values. Preparation of activated carbon made from coffee grounds carbonized with temperatures of 300°C, 500°C, 700°C and activated with HCl, KOH, and ZnCl2, then testing the quality of activated carbon. Activated carbon that has been made as the basic material for making supercapacitor electrodes. Furthermore, the performance of the supercapacitor was tested by measuring the amount of electricity and knowing the level of precision. The results of testing the quality of activated carbon showed that the optimum conditions occurred at a carbonization temperature of 700°C and activated by KOH with obtained ash content of 9,359%, moisture content of 2,564%, volatile matter content of 5,888%, and bound carbon content of 84,753%. These results meet the SNI 06-3730-1995 standard. While the results of supercapacitor testing show optimum conditions occur in supercapacitors with activated carbon with a carbonization temperature 300°C activated by ZnCl2 with a charging time of 1 minute obtained a voltage of 352,9 mV and capacitance of 465.58 ?F. These results show that supercapacitors with small voltage values produce a large enough capacitance. The supercapacitor made produces the highest level of precision in supercapacitors with activated carbon with a carbonization temperature of 300°C activated by HCl with a charging time of 1 minute obtained a precision of 99,79%.
