"Logo is a form of visual communication in which the logo can describe the visual\r\nidentity of a product, the purpose of making a logo is as an identity and a characteristic to\r\nbe easily remembered by the public. The Halal logo is a logo that is very important for the\r\nMuslim community. Because having a halal logo on a product will ensure that the product\r\nhas passed the halal certification test. In terms of granting halal certification through\r\nseveral stages that will be carried out by the Ministry of Religion's BPJPH. This change in\r\nthe halal logo also raises several assumptions from various parties because of its shape\r\nwhich resembles a wayang mountain.\r\nThis research wants to know the meaning behind the change in the Indonesian\r\nhalal logo. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a semiotic approach\r\nbelonging to Charles Sanders Pierce who is famous for his trichotomous triad, namely\r\nrepresentation, object, and interpretant. Data collection techniques were carried out by\r\ninterviews and documentation. After the data has been collected, it is analyzed using\r\nCharles Sanders Pierce's semiotic approach to then draw conclusions.\r\nThe background to the change in the halal logo was the transfer of authority from\r\nthe MUI to the Ministry of Religion's BPJPH. The selection of the latest halal logo also\r\ndoes not intend to carry a cultural theme, namely a shape resembling a mountain of\r\nwayang. From the research that has been carried out, based on an analysis of Charles\r\nSanders Pierce's semiotic theory, the halal logo belonging to the Ministry of Religion's\r\nBPJPH contains meaning about the life of a believing human being. By visualizing the\r\nshape of a pyramid that resembles a mountain of wayang, wrapped in purple, it means that\r\nthe higher the knowledge and the older the age, the more conical humans must be, or get\r\ncloser to the Creator.
