        abstract = {The rapid growth of technology, communication, and information makes
da'wah must transform and acculturate by applying modern da'wah methods and
remain in accordance with the Quran. One of them is the development of da'wah
media in the form of films. Previous research has discussed many methods of
da'wah mauidzah hasanah, bil hikmah, and mujadalah in several films, while the
focus of this research is to analyze how the methods of da'wah athifi, aqli, and
hissi can be applied in the context of films. The film "Merindu Cahaya De Amstel"
was chosen as the subject of research, which is about the true story of a convert to
Islam who came from a European country where Islam is a minority religion. This
type of research is qualitative research. This research approach uses Roland
Barthes' semiotic approach. The data sources used are primary data and
secondary data, which are collected using documentation techniques. The data
that has been collected, then analyzed by emphasizing the meaning of denotation,
connotation, and myth.
The results showed that athifi's da'wah method in this film was shown
when Kamala's mother reminded her daughter to pray and when Fatimah
delivered advice to Khadija who was almost desperate. The method of da'wah aqli
was shown when Fatimah did a Q\&A with Nicholas, Kamala answered Nicholas's
question about different religious practices, and Khadija answered Nicholas's
question about Muslim women. The hissi method of da'wah is shown when
Fatimah teaches Khadija to wear hijab, and when Khadija performs
congregational prayers with Kamala who has never prayed before. It can be
concluded that the use of athifi, aqli, and hissi da'wah methods in the film
"Merindu Cahaya De Amstel" has succeeded in achieving the expected da'wah
goal.}
