N2  - The background of this research is that individuals as converts will
encounter several stages that require knowledge as a guide, encouragement and
confirmation of the heart, patience in carrying out religious duties, spiritual
support, advice to touch the heart, and the need for continuous motivation to face
and undergo a spiritual journey. so that it reaches a state of calm. The process of
becoming a convert is not easy because they cannot be separated from facing
several obstacles and obstacles from their environment. Among them are criticism,
threats, rejection from the family, persecution and even violence. According to the
author's observations, seen several weeks there is a process of spiritual
development and religious needs by adult converts in the form of carrying out the
shahada process and religious guidance at the Indonesian Mualaf Quran Center.
Basically, religious motivation is an impulse of the soul that has a natural basis in
the nature of human creation. In self-realization, humans feel they have one of the
motivations that encourages them to analyze and seek their Creator and the
Creator of the universe. Meanwhile, adult converts are mature individuals who
have reached psychological maturity who have just entered Islam and need a
period of consolidation in their new religion.
This research is a case study research using descriptive qualitative method,
collecting data using observation, interviews and documentation. Data collection
was taken from several objects related to the research being carried out. The data
analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative, namely by collecting data and
reducing it into conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the factors of
religious motivation in two adult converts, namely YU and EL at the Indonesian
Mualaf Quran Center, are overcoming frustration, overcoming feelings of fear
and satisfying the intellect.
