Time series data from the period 2000 to 2022 is used to analyze the relationship between these variables. Multiple linear regression method with the help of eviews 12 software is used to test the effect of each variable on the trade balance. The results of the study show that economic openness has a positive and significant impact on the trade balance. Increased openness of a country's economy is followed by an increase in the trade balance surplus. FDI also has a positive and significant influence on the trade balance, indicating that foreign direct investment can stimulate exports and reduce imports. However, the results of the analysis of the effect of the exchange rate on the trade balance are inversely proportional to the hypothesis. Where the research results refer to the theory that a lower exchange rate can increase export competitiveness and the resulting exchange rate has a significant positive effect on the trade balance. This shows the complexity of the relationship between currency exchange rates and the trade balance. %Z Pembimbing: Lailatis Syarifah, Lc. M.A.
