N2  - Zakat does not only function to provide consumptive support for the poor, but more permanently, namely alleviating poverty through the empowerment of productive zakat. This study aims to analyze the effect of productive zakat on improving the welfare of mustahik based on the CIBEST (Center for Islamic Business and Economic Studies) model at BAZNAS Yogyakarta City. This model combines the quadrants of basic human needs covering material and spiritual aspects and combines them to determine the condition of poor households without or with zakat assistance. Respondents in this study amounted to 60 mustahik with convenience sampling technique.  
The results of the study show that based on the CIBEST model classification, productive zakat assistance by BAZNAS Yogyakarta City has succeeded in increasing the welfare of mustahik. Prior to productive zakat assistance, there were 9 mustahik or 15% who were in quadrant I (prosperous). Then after the productive zakat assistance increased to 57 mustahik or 95% were in quadrant I (prosperous). While 3 mustahik or 5% are still in quadrant II (poor materials). Whereas in quadrant III (spiritual poor) and quadrant IV (absolute poor) there are no mustahik who enter these quadrants, both before and after the productive zakat assistance.
