        abstract = {Teenagers from broken home families have different challenges from teenagers with intact and harmonious family backgrounds. One of them is related to how they seek excessive attention from around (attention seeking). This study aims to find out how the description of attention seeking in late adolescents with a broken home family background. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out using interviews and documentation techniques. The informants involved in this study were 3 late adolescents with different backgrounds from broken homes.
The results of the study show that attention seeking behavior in late adolescents with broken home family backgrounds is very diverse ranging from negative and self-defeating behaviors or actions such as self-harm, and harm to others such as spam chat and disturbing comfort. In addition, there are also some positive actions or behaviors of attention seeking which are manifested in a high tendency to achieve and strong learning motivation and achievement in each informant. Attention seeking behavior in late adolescents can differ depending on the type of broken home experienced, parenting styles, and from the late adolescents themselves.}
